Windows: How to End a High CPU Usage Process (Task Manager)

Steps (Windows 10/11)

1. Open Task Manager:
   • Right-click an empty area on the taskbar, or
   • Press Ctrl + Alt + Del (Windows 11 can use Ctrl + Shift + Esc).

   If you do not see CPU details, click More details.

2. In Task Manager, click the CPU column header to sort by CPU usage.
3. Right-click the program or process with high usage and choose End task (or click End task).
4. You can also use the Details tab to find and end the corresponding process.
